The Joy of Cultural Patnership Initiative Program (Valentina Beatrix Sondag from Indonesia)
My journey to Korea was beyond my imagination. This is my first long Journey and i have completely no idea what’s awaiting me. So far, I've been happy enough to enjoy Korea from Korean dramas, as a modern country with great life plus cute 오빠 and 언니.

An excitement of a journey is starting with a great company . Well , that is true , in 2014 , there are more than 60 people from different countries have joined as CPI members . Most of them including me were stayed in Seoul and lived in the same apartment . So there we go , a bunch of 외국인(foreigner) from the different work field and cultural background stayed in the same building. From museum workers , taekwondo athletes , music and art artists , dancers , librarian and heritage , are unity in diversity under the same passion and a love for Korean culture. Somehow , we became a Seoul-mate ( not soul mate) were everybody just starting to click each other as a big family . Our daily life full of happiness , laugh and even love stories . Together we are enjoying the fun way learning Korean culture with interesting activities such as picnic in Korean folk village , learn the korean language , meeting Korean friends , eat delicious food , making kimchi and many more. There is the time when we sat in front our mini market , drink together enjoying soju , maekoli , Korean snack just to relax or to celebrates someone birthday , someone won a competition , or just to chat . Another day we encourage each other when we are having difficulty learned Korean language , when someone needs inspiration for cultural performance , or when someone tired with all the research papers . Sometimes, participant whose was staying in another city joined us in Seoul to have fun . Our day is full of Love, laugh, live. We learn to understand, to be tolerant and accept different cultures.
I worked as guest curators in Children Museum at The National Folk Museum Of Korea , during my CPI Program . There are so many things here inspired me to learn many creative and effective way to preserve intangible heritage , the tradition from the past to a younger generation . I have met great colleagues and they involve me in so many families and kids cultural programs . At the end , I found my self-feel fascinating with so many cultural experiences , from making kimchi , Chuesok experience , mask , traditional music and dance , making traditional archery and also wandering around learning Korean history from the historical site of Silla and Joseon Dynasty and visiting so many museums . These experiences have increased my points of view to preserve culture and heritage
It has been three years since I am back from Korea and working as a curator at the National Museum Of Indonesia . However, my memory with CPI is unforgettable. Journey to Korea has revealed lots of knowledges that i can share with among Indonesia . CPI help me to found my streght. Moreover , I have a new family now , a CPI families from all around the world . In Indonesia , CPI members are connected each other and supporting each other to develop their skill as a professional and as a big family . We meet regularly especially for CPI member of Jakarta . I hope we can meet all CPI member of all over Indonesia .
